Reawakenings The North Atlantic Cold, that was the first thing she felt: unyielding, bone numbing cold. It was the same cold she had felt that night, the night when it all had ended. Now, as her senses slowly returned to her, she felt that cold again. All throughout that night it had been there. From the last time she had seen the sun, to when the dark mass loomed ahead of her, to the moment the screaming started, and finally to when everything went dark, that cold was there. Now, there was back again. Just darkness and cold. Her right side no longer hurt, but she wasn't sure if that was because she was just numb or it had been repaired. It was a comfort, however fleeting. She was, at the very least, whole again. But then a new feeling took over. A beat, strange and new, pulsed through her body. It was slow at first, and yet rhythmic. But then it began to get stronger. In no time at all, that rhythmic beat kept going. This was different from the one she felt before. That beat was

The Jamantie Legacy Chapter 2
Chapter 2: The Paths Ahead. Jamantie was only a few steps into the warm grass of the Gnarls before he came to a pause. Several steps to his left was one of the three dirt paths that lead from the landing sight into the Gnarls, three paths that ventured out over a small river before converging into one on the far bank. That singular path then ventured into the forest, and it was a well worn path especially with the new initiates heading on it. Jamantie watched the crowds slowly disperse into small groups of two, three, and even four people a piece, and he could even see a few singular individuals heading off on their own. And yet there he was, standing on the near side of the river, without a single clue as to where to go. He looked to the left and to the right, but felt very little in his sense of direction. Everyone else seemed either to be drawn into the path they were taking or were genuinely intrigued at the world before them. All the while, he stood there, lost and confused as

While sitting on her office chair, the accountant listened attentively to the saucier as she learnt everything about him, such as Yui being his foster daughter, their people and home world, his life as an army captain and the emperor's chef back in Mizuho, his magical abilities, the great war that ravaged his country three years and eight months ago, and how they built a route between their respective worlds. When he finished his explanation ten minutes later, Shino rubs her temples and looks back at the former army captain. "So, not only you and Yui were from a world where people can perform magic, but you two even fought in a war that determine the fate of humanity?" Shino asked. "That's right." Kirito nodded with his arms

She sat inside her new office to handle the latest bills and invoices while the others were out in the kitchen and dining area serving breakfast to the diners. When breakfast service is over, Asuna hands the receipts from their diners over to her new accountant, who records them into the computer and neatly places them into one of the document trays at the left side of her desk when she is done. After Shino finished the work that she has for now within minutes, she leans back on her office chair and lets out a heavy yawn. She gives her eyes a good rub and stares at the ceiling for a few moments to contemplate. Ever since she woke up this morning, she could not stop thinking if Asuna and the others had

When the alarm from Haruka's phone rang several hours later, the three woke up and got out of their car. After taking out their luggage, Haruka locks the car and gestures Shu and Inori to follow her. The three of them walk through the parking lot together and along the way, Haruka tosses the car keys into a trash bin built on a pillar that they pass by. They cross over one of the bridges built between the car park building and the rest of the airport, and they soon find themselves arriving at the entrance hall. Inori looks at her surroundings as she, Shu and Haruka walk through the wide-open area and head over to the nearest flight

While Shu is hastily stuffing his clothes and other necessities into his luggage which he placed on his bed, he has been wondering what gotten Haruka into such a frenzy that she would suddenly wake him and Inori from their slumber, though it is obvious that it could have something to do with what she discovered from Kurosu's phone. After neatly arranging his stuff inside his luggage, Shu closes it shut and turns his head to the door just in time to see his stepmother entering his room while carrying a sling bag on her back and placing her hand on the handlebar of her own

Ravager's War Chapter Twelve
Chapter Twelve: The Briefing The reduction of the crew complement from three hundred to at least eighty had indeed allowed for a lot more space to be opened up on the Hapj. And yet, even with the Alliance’s lack of resources, the fact that not only were all the renovations completed ahead of schedule but that even the most frivolous of ideas could be achieved was mind boggling. Kira couldn’t help but be impressed as she walked through the halls of the completed ship, looking around with a content yet passive smile. As she did so, she passed Rusk’s idea of having not only a mini-obstacle course set up next to the weight room, but also a rather sizable shooting range right next door. There was also now a fully refurbished Command and Control center located just under the neck connecting the ship to the bridge, which also got a sizable rework. Apparently, a wrecked Star Destroyer and a decommissioned Mon-Calamari cruiser helped fit the bill for the Hapj’s reconstruction, which made Kira
